Doors open 6.30pm

7-10pm College of Music Room 219

The evening programme of “Fusebox Presents” will feature renowned improviser/composer Matthew Bourne in a solo piano set, and the fiery improvising quintet (matthewbourne.com) and Shatner’s Bassoon, with Michael Bardon on bass/electronics, Ollie Dover on sax/clarinet, Joost Hendrickx on drums/electronics, Johnny Richards on keys/electronics, and Craig Scott on guitar/electronics.

With a reputation as a fearlessly unpredictable pianist and composer,  Matthew Bourne is a passionate explorer of sound, possessed of a burning desire to make music on anything old, broken or infirm.

Steeped in malfunctioning improvisation, passive-aggressive minimalism, surreal avant-punk and free jazz trances, Leeds quintet Shatner’s Bassoon sound like little else. Since their formation in 2010, the experimental outfit’s intense maelstrom of beguiling yet disturbing noise has earned the group a reputation as a must-see live act.
