We have international stars – Canadian trumpet player Ingrid Jensen and Danish pianist Kathrine Windfeld plus established UK musicians saxwoman Karen Sharp, pianist Maria Chiara Argirò and bassist Alison Rayner, young London bands including those of trombonist Rosie Turton, trumpeter Kim Macari and sax player Asha Parkinson but alsonot forgetting northern band leaders singer Kate Peters, saxwomen Helen Pillinger and Cathy Ibberson We also have a truly international season – our concerts feature musicians from the USA, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Iceland, the Faroes, Italy, Israel and France and of course the UK.

Sharing the billing is Phil Green’s Biggish Band celebrating the music of Chapel Allerton’s own jazz trumpet and flugelhorn player Phil Green arranged by Dave Evans
“Ubunye” Sat 31 Aug 8pm £10 (£5 25 ‘s and under) Ubunye deliver a soulful- goose bump inducing-performance of original pieces cleverly fused with Southern African songs. It is a total multi-cultural experience.
Jazz Blues and Soul Sunday 1 Sept 12-6pm payf (suggested £3) @Regent Street, Chapel Allerton LS7 4PE. These bands will get you dancing in the street! This year we feature award winning blues artist Kyla Brox, thenine piece band “Soul Surgeons“, Leeds-based funk slammers “New Position“, trad jazz from “Rhythm De Luxe”, vibraphone-led jazz from “Vibeology” topped off with classic rhythm ‘n’ blues, doo-wop, jazz and driving piano boogie from “Louis Louis Louis” to send everyone home happy!
