Enrico Marchesi New Jazz Trio

Instead of the previously advertised Kleppan Project we now have Enrico Marchesi’s new jazz group “Cuengo” (with Curtis Shaw guitar Gordon Kilroy drums Steve Crocker bass and Enrico Marchesi trumpet). This is an instrumental Latin / Cuban quartet, created by the experienced musician Enrico Marchesi . A wide repertoire that ranges from old jazz standards, classic bossa nova, boleros and the traditional cuban son to the most contemporary original music. Always in a Latin key and with an acoustic sound – an extraordinarily diverse mix of music!.

Trumpeter Enrico Marchesi is a graduate from the “Conservatory G. Donizetti” in Bergamo, Northern Italy and then went on to specialise at “Conservatory Santa Cecilia” in Rome. He participated in the Jazz studies at the G. Verdi Conservatory (Milan) under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Gaslini, pianist, composer and conductor. He became Trumpet Leader in the Gaslini Orchestra and supported Don Cherry, Gato Barbieri , Steve Lacy at Jazz festivals throughout Italy , Switzerlands Spain : Bergamo Jazz Festival, Lovere Jazz Festival, Lugano Jazz Festival , Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife.

Enrico Marchesi has performed with many luminaries including the jazz legend Sonny Rollins, Chet Baker quartet, Bruce Adams. Enrico is currently brass teacher with Artforms Leeds and Horsforth Music Centre (Education Leeds)
