CANCELLED : Jade America Harris with Jez Platt (piano) Rush Hour Jazz, 1 April 6pm Seven Arts

Rush Hour Jazz features young jazz singer Jade America Harris with pianist Jez Platt, Steve Crocker bass and Dom Moore drums

Every generation throws up a handful of musicians who can interpret the classic American Songbook afresh. These ‘standard’ and ‘show tunes’ often appear hackneyed, taken for granted or just plain old-fashioned. Yet, artists with talent and vision breathe new life into them. Think Ray Charles, Etta James, Nina Simone and Eva Cassidy. I can hear the same visionary quality and musical talent in the work of vocalist Jade Harris” Adrian Ingram – Jazz Guitarist, Writer and Historian.

Jade is a jazz singer from Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England. She performs with musicians across the North, singing jazz, blues, soul and funk She regularly perform and write music with folk, jazz, trio, ‘Band of Jays’, an intriguing blend of experimental songwriting techniques, luscious harmonies, togetherness and hopefully something that will leave you wondering “what was that”!!
