Richard (flugelhorn) and Jamie (guitar) have been established for many years as two of the leading musicians and educators on the Northern scene. Both are principal lecturers in jazz at Leeds College of Music, and both have appeared across the UK with a wide range of exciting musical projects. Richard’s CV includes collaborations with the likes of John Taylor, Bill Frisell, Peter Erskine, Anthony Braxton, Vince Mendoza, and Kenny Wheeler. Meanwhile, Jamie has worked with Baptiste Herbin, Roni Ben-Hur, Steve Fishwick, Laura Jurd, Tori Freestone, Sebastiaan DeKrom, and Gary Potter amongst others, and recently completed a UK-wide tour with the jazz/rock group “Perpetual Motion Machine”.
Although they have worked together in quartet and trio settings before, this will be the first time these two artists have performed together as a duo. Expect to hear a mixture of original compositions by both, alongside some choice selections from standard repertoire.
