JazzLeeds Lockdown weekly video show on our video channels

During the first lockdown, since we could not open up our doors to you all, we poster weekly Jazz Leeds lockdown video programmes of bands from our extensive jazz archives. These are all on our YouTube or Vimeo channels and all last around one hour. We’d be really interested to hear your views about these – leave a comment on YouTube or contact us via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter at Jazz_Leeds

We’re leaving them up to be viewed for a few weeks – all we are asking you to do is to go online to the websites of some of the artists you are hearing and maybe purchase one of their CDs – it all helps support musicians in these exceptionally difficult times, plus you get to keep a great CD!

Watch our website for more lockdown things we are up to, including a monthly jazz magazine radio programmes with our colleagues on ChapelFM in Leeds…

Jazz Unlocked - our monthly jazz radio show on ELFM

Let’s help to unlock some jazz with our new monthly radio show all about jazz in Leeds, Leeds clubs, musicians and jazz fans! Welcome to the new weekly Jazz Unlocked programme on East Leeds FM. https://www.chapelfm.co.uk/elfm-player/

Presented by Steve Crocker from Jazz Leeds and engineered by Tony Mauluso from Chapel FM the show keeps you in touch with the jazz scene in Leeds during the lockdown. We have a broad definition of jazz so we’ll be including blues, big bands, and more along the way. Jazz Unlocked will feature 60 minutes of interviews, album recordings, and specially recorded performances

Leeds is a great place to play and listen to jazz – before the lockdown there were more than twenty venues where you could hear regular live sessions and the city has some of the finest jazz musicians in the UK too and we’ll be hearing from some of those people in the coming weeks.
