Nel Begley at March’s Rush Hour Jazz – Wed 20 Mar 6-7pm @Seven Arts

Nel Begley is a jazz singer and songwriter who has been making a big name for herself on the UK scene. She has performed at festivals – Manchester Jazz, Latitude, Bestival and Boom Town and at last year’s Jazz Leeds Festival. She was one of the tutors on this summer’s Global Music Foundation London Jazz Workshop and Festival based at Pizza Express Dean Street in London last year and performed at the festival’s Rising Stars gig on 20 August 20. She will be appearing at the Village Jazz Festival in Chapel Allerton later this summer with Rafe’s Dilemma – a musical piece about playwright Bill Naughton which she wrote with Leeds pianist Jami Sheriff.

At the March Rush Hour jazz she’ll be signing some of her favourite standard jazz tunes with the Jazz Leeds trio – Will Powell guitar, Steve Crocker bass and Dom Moore drums. 6-7pm Wed Mar 20th @Seven Arts bar Leeds
