We’ve we think we’ve excelled ourselves during the coming month! Jazz legends Jason Rebello and Tim Garland bring their “Duology” to town, the superb saxman Joel Frahm and his trio introduce “The Bright Side”, bassist and leading light Alison Rayner and her quintet perform award-winning “Short Stories”. The “absolutely storming!” (Jamie Cullum) The Jazz Defenders also showcase the finest of Blue Note-inspired music, and Hugh Pascall brings the bracing hard bop of the just-released “Borderlands” to Leeds. Not to mention the monthly Rush Hour Jazz featuring Dudley Nesbitt on pans, our ongoing instrumental and vocal workshops – open to everyone – led by Dom Moore and Oliver Bolton, and support on our Thursday gigs from the Sam Dolling Trio and Steve Hanley and Simeon Walker. Plus two concerts featuring some of the best of jazz students at Leeds Conservatoire. A total of 8 concerts, 15 bands, and 4 workshops!
