Music from 6pm

This year we are proud to host the opening event of the 2024 Leeds Jazz Festival at Seven Arts. A special Rush Hour jazz featuring Dan Barker-Bey, a tenor saxophonist, instrumental tutor and jazz educator based in Leeds. Graduating from Leeds College of Music in 2012, he has since built a professional career that has seen him perform and educate widely in the North of England.

He cites legendary players such as John Coltrane, Michael Brecker and Bob Berg as being some of his biggest influences, and strives to pay homage to those great voices of the tenor saxophone in his own playing and composition.

He’s accompanied by the JazzLeeds trio of Will Powell (guitar), Steve Crocker (bass) and Steve Hanley (drums)

Come along and have a drink in the Seven Arts Bar and listen to some lovely music
