Started in 2007 by jazz fans Steve Crocker and Steve Ross, Jazz Leeds is now a major UK jazz promoter, based at Seven Arts, a beautifully designed acoustic venue in Chapel Allerton, Leeds.
JazzLeeds are an art and music charity with a year round programme of over 150 concerts, jazz festivals, jam sessions and workshops. We promote a mixture of international, national and local musicians and a wide range of music from contemporary through to traditional jazz with some blues, latin and big bands as well. 2023 is our 16th birthday year. In 2012 we won the Jazz Yorkshire award for best jazz venue and in 2016 the national Parliamentary Jazz award for best UK jazz promoter.

Jazz Leeds charity has a board of trustees including Steve Crocker, Steve Ross, Rosemary Holmes, Karen Gourlay and Ramesh Narayanan and our student Trustee Sophie Speed. We have a large group of volunteer supporters who help us in running our events.

JAZZ INSTRUMENTAL WORKSHOPS
Workshops will start again fortnightly at “Northlight” (the new name for Inkwell on 31 Potternewton Lane LS73LW) on Sunday mornings, 10:30am-12:30pm – Cost per session: £10/8.
