Started in 2007 by Steve Crocker and Steve Ross, Jazz Leeds is now one of the major UK jazz promoters, based at Seven Arts, Chapel Allerton Leeds.
We are an arts music charity with a year round programme of over 140 gigs, jazz festivals, jam sessions and workshops. We promote a mixture of international, national and local musicians and a wide range of music from contemporary through to traditional jazz with some blues, latin and big bands as well. 2022 is our 15th birthday year. We won the Parliamentary Jazz award for best UK jazz promoter in 2016.

Jazz Leeds charity has a board of trustees including Steve Crocker, Rosemary Holmes, Steve Ross, Jamil Sheriff, Karen Gourlay and Ramesh Narayanan. We currently one intern, Ben Gilbert, and a large group of volunteer supporters who help us in running our events. We are always looking for help – just come to one of our gigs and offer!

JAZZ VOCAL WORKSHOPS

JAZZ INSTRUMENTAL WORKSHOPS
Workshops will start again fortnightly at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm (Barn Sugar Well Rd, Leeds LS7 2QG) on Sunday mornings, 10:30am-12:30pm from Sunday 11 September . Cost per session: £10/8. All instruments and standards welcome – all you need is a wish to learn how to improvise and play jazz tunes. There is a piano available and a drum kit, otherwise please bring your instruments.
