Getting Gigs

We aim to get a balance of music from the world of jazz – international concerts, national and regional gigs, contemporary jazz, swing, improv, big bands, blues, singers, younger bands and jazz legends.

We are currently booking gigs for August 2024 onwards. Like most jazz clubs, our booking is a mix of curation and submissions.

If you are interested in performing at our venues please fill out the form to the right and send it to us at [email protected]. If we cannot help, then there are many other venues in the northern region- please check out the Jazz North website for  details https://www.jazznorth.org

JazzLeeds has its main venue at Seven Arts, a 100-seat venue (31 Harrogate Road Chapel Allerton Leeds LS7 3PD). We also run small events and workshops at Northlight Arts at 31 Potternewton Lane LS73LW. We programme concerts in the city centre as part of Leeds Jazz Festival each summer and organise the Village Jazz Festival events for the annual Chapel Allerton Arts Festival in early autumn.

Our events are seated and are designed for a listening audience. We have three programming “seasons”: Autumn (September- Christmas), Spring (January-Easter) and Summer (Easter-August). Our fortnightly evening concerts, usually on Thursdays, feature national and international artists. Our Sunday afternoon events are mainly for local or regional bands and they run weekly throughout the year.

Our Rush Hour Jazz series is on the first and third Wednesday each month in the Seven Arts bar featuring visiting guests with the house rhythm section.

We also have support band slots to perform at some of our concerts – “opening” slots of 30 minutes prior to the main performance.
