We aim to get a balance of music – international, national and regional, contemporary jazz, swing, improv, big bands, blues, singers, younger bands and jazz legends – local or otherwise!

We organise events in the Chapel Allerton (LS7) area of Leeds where our main venues are Seven Arts, an 80 seat venue on Harrogate Road and Inkwell on Potternewton Lane, which holds around 60. We also organise the Village Jazz Festival, part of the annual Chapel Allerton Arts Festival. In 2017 we organised the first JazzLeeds festival in  Leeds City Centre.

We have three programming “seasons”- Autumn (Sept-Dec), Spring (Jan- Easter) and Summer (Easter – July). In August we have our “Jazz-Jam-borees” with committee members leading a their own bands and jam session at Inkwell. We start back again at the end of August by organising the Village Jazz Festival events – part of the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival including the popular Jazz Sunday in Regent Street. Our Sunday afternoon events are mainly for local or regional bands, typically up to £250 for the band. Our evening events are national or international groups.

If we cannot help, then there are many other venues in the North of England – these are  listed here

Steve Crocker programmes our Festivals and Seven Arts gigs, Jean Watson programmes our Inkwell gigs.

If you are interested in performing at our venue please fill in the form below and we will get back to you.
