We aim to get a balance of music from the world of jazz – international concert, national and regional gigs, contemporary jazz, swing, improv, big bands, blues, singers, younger bands and jazz legends.

Jazz Leeds has its main venue at Seven Arts, a 100-seat venue (31 Harrogate Road Chapel Allerton Leeds LS7 3PD). We also run small events and workshops (up to 25 people) at The Barn, Meanwood Valley Urban Farm. We also organise the Village Jazz Festival, part of the annual Chapel Allerton Arts Festival in August/September and the city centre JazzLeeds festival each summer. Our events are all seated and are designed for a listening audience.

We have three programming “seasons”: Autumn (Sept-Dec), Spring (Jan-Easter) and Summer (Easter-July). Our evening concerts (usually Thursdays) are for national and international names; we have two of these a month with a break over the summer months. Our Sunday afternoon events are mainly for local or regional bands and they run weekly throughout the year. Our Rush Hour Jazz series in the Seven Arts bar has visiting guests with the house rhythm section. We also run a series of support bands for our evening concerts – “taster” slots of 30 minutes prior to the main performance.

Steve Crocker programmes our regular jazz programme. If you are interested in performing at our venue please either email your details, and links to your music, to [email protected] with the subject line “Bookings”, or fill out the form below.

If we cannot help, then there are many other venues in the region listed on the Northern Jazz Promoters website: http://www.northernjazzpromoters.org/
