12.30pm Leeds Jazz Orchestra
Leeds Jazz Orchestra, led by Colin Byrne, play an eclectic mix of repertoire from Bebop, Blues and Ballads through to cutting-edge modern Jazz Orchestra numbers. Classic big band arrangements from Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus sit alongside numbers written specifically for the band.

1.30pm Big Bamboo
Big Bamboo play Rumba, Choro, Mento, Beguine and Merengue – in an acoustic and improvised style reminiscent of New Orleans jazz. Clarinettist Richard Ormrod and trombonist Will Osborne are passionate about early calypso and beguine and, together, they lead Big Bamboo on a tour through the first half of the 20th Century, across several seas, and through multiple musical traditions rooted in early jazz and hot dance.

2.30pm Carioca Soul
Carioca Soul are a six-piece Leeds band blending bossa nova and Brazilian grooves with contemporary jazz, funk, soul and original songwriting. Inspired by Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66. Led by pianist, songwriter and musical director Wayne Pollock, the group features two vocalists, Kate Peters and Kel Alvaro.

3.30pm Louis Louis Louis
We’re delighted to bring back Chapel Allerton Arts Festival favourites Louis Louis Louis performing a mix of blues, doo-wop and ska.

4.30pm New York Brass Band
Glastonbury favourites New York Brass Band first appeared at Chapel Allerton Arts Festival band back in 2018. Inspired by Rebirth Brass Band, Soul Rebels, Hot 8, Youngblood and Brassroots, they pack a powerful punch of relentless drums, rumbling tuba and wailing horns. They even had jazz legend Wayne Shorter posting support for them on social media!

There is also second stage this year on Sunday in Well Lane a short walk from the main festival stage 1-5pm…..

1pm Emma Coates quartet
Weaving jazz and folk, Leeds singer and saxophonist Emma Coates creates an intricate, intimate sound, taking inspiration from the likes of Men I Trust, Adrianne Lenker and This Is The Kit.

2.00pm Rickarby Trio
Oliver Rickarby is a young jazz pianist who lives in Chapel Allerton, – he’s the grandson of the legendary Leeds big band leader Barry Rickarby (who is on bass) and and son of father Guy who will be on drums – it’s a family affair!

3.00pm Jools and the Valley Three
Guitarist Jules Marley leads an eclectic quartet of Chapel Allerton based musicians playing jazz and folk inspired music

4.00pm Perfect Fourth
This highly acclaimed Saxophone quartet have appeared at many local jazz venues. They can turn their hand to classical music, folk and jazz
